Katovich & Kassan Law Group (K2 Law Group for short) was founded in 2001 to focus on clients that care about social, environmental, and corporate responsibility. For 13 years we have provided a low-overhead approach so that our clients receive exceptional representation at minimal expense – allowing clients to meet their triple bottom line objectives.

Even with our steady growth, these guiding principles still apply to the work we do today. Our growing list of for-profit, non-profit, co-op, and hybrid clients across a wide range of industries is a testament to socially responsible enterprises’ desire to have their choice of law firm reflect their values.

The name Cutting Edge Counsel is meant to reflect our dedication to serving clients with an expertise in New Economy law (benefit corporations, food and agriculture, sharing economy, crowdfunding, etc.), and to mirror the complementary capital raising services provided by our sister business, Cutting Edge Capital.

Cutting Edge Counsel will continue to offer a full menu of legal services to clients in every phase of growth – from start-up through financing to ongoing operations and succession planning. In addition, we will continue to offer reasonably priced, flat-fee General Counsel services for clients that need regular access to legal advice and assistance from lawyers who have served in that role inside of a wide range of organizations.

In the coming days, we will be transitioning our email accounts and corporate letterhead and materials to reflect the new name. In the meantime, we are open for business as usual, and look forward to providing you best-in-class legal services.
