Edie Weiner
Institutional change holds personal meaning for Edie Weiner. At age 29, she ushered institutional change to Union Mutual Life Insurance Company when she, who was not even an employee, was elected to the company’s board of directors. It was a historical first: She was the youngest outside woman to be elected to any financial institution’s board of directors. Now president of the futurist consulting group Weiner, Edrich, and Brown, she presents to corporations and associations across the country on market trends, product development, and strategic planning. She’s also on several other high-profile committees, including the U.S. Comptroller General’s Advisory Board and the Women’s Leadership Exchange.
Her Sunday Luncheon presentation, “The Immediate Importance of Imagination,” will explore the new, better financial system that we could create if we harness our creativity and foresight. She’ll make clear to attendees why she is certain that a better future of employment, wealth, and opportunity for all depends not on fixing our old economic systems, but on using our imaginations to build new ones.
