Hi
everyone,
This month, the UN is hosting in New York a series of key events together with its General Assembly, among them: the 20th Session of the
Commission
on Sustainable Development which will mark the end of a cycle and the the Inaugural Session of the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development.
This important milestone in the follow up to Rio+20 process, is a key time for youth and children to create an action plan on the road to the Post-2015 Development Agenda.
It is vital that we work together to ensure that young people have a strong voice in Sustainable Development negotiations as we move towards a new system. In order to facilitate that, the Major Group for Children and Youth (MGCY), which is the constituency for the UN Sustainable Development negotiations, will be hosting in the afternoon of September 20th, 2013 another traditional Youth Blast!
The Youth Blast is organized by youth for any young person under the age of 30, and is an unique opportunity to plan, strategise and begin action towards a more sustainable world.
But to do this we need as many individuals, organisations, networks, coalitions and ideas as possible!
This Youth Blast will be short, action packed and will give you concrete skills to help you be effective lobbying for change at the UN level!
It is also an opportunity for all young people to discuss their ideas, collaborate to reach agreement on core messages and strategize in order to have a lasting impact!
Participation is free of charge
and open to everyone
.
The event is
aimed at
any young person under the age of 30 attending UN negotiations in the coming weeks! (People over the age of 30 are welcome as observers and those under 18 will need to be accompanied by a guardian).
In order to take part, you need to quickly register here! (We need to confirm names at the security of the building!)
