Over 1,200 Scientists Call to Speak ‘Science to Power’ Over Covid and Climat

More than a thousand of the nation’s top scientists say it’s time to speak “science to power,” as Covid-19 deaths rise around the country. More than 1,240 National Academy of Science members are calling on policymakers to restore evidence-based decision-making—especially when it comes to managing life-and-death challenges like the global pandemic and climate change.

Also this week, EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler announced a U.S. proposal that would regulate greenhouse gas emissions from airplanes for the first time. But, the new standards would do nothing to further reduce the country’s rising greenhouse gas levels because the airline industry had already imposed those standards on itself four years ago.
