NEW REPORT: WHAT ARE RURAL AND CO-OP UTILITIES SAYING ABOUT THEIR SMART GRID ROADMAPS?

GTM Research, in collaboration with the Rural Smart Grid Summit (RSGS), publishes this reportsurveying key decision-makers from a diverse group of rural utilities across North America. The findings presented in the report are based on a 41-question survey covering everything from AMI to distribution automation and grid storage technologies.

Rural electric cooperative utilities serve over 13% of all U.S. customers, and own over 40% of the nation’s distribution lines. In addition, their collective service territories cover about three-quarters of the nation’s landmass. GTM Research forecasts these utilities will spend approximately $1.1 billion on smart grid technologies in 2013.
