Ban on General Solicitation Lifted
The ban on general solicitation — advertising — of securities deals was lifted this week. Congress mandated the SEC to do away with the restrictions in Title II of the JOBS Act. Following months of delays, the SEC voted 4-1 to lift the ban in July. There was a two-month waiting period, before the law came into effect on Monday.
