We at Ethical Markets are saddened to lose the prophetic brilliance of Alvin Toffler, world-renowned futurist, author of Future Shock (1970), Third Wave (1980), Revolutionary Wealth (2006), which shaped the geopolitical thinking and debates in North America and Europe, also in Japan and influencing the leaders in China and many other countries. This TV discussion with Alvin Toffler in 1982 on “Future Politics: Anticipatory Democracy” could have been taped today and can inform our current election campaign in the USA. We send our deep condolences to Alvin Toffler’s partner, co-author and spouse Heidi Toffler who shared in their long-time intellectual collaboration. I knew and learned from the Tofflers over many years and was grateful for their wise advice and Alvin’s generous comments on my books. We are happy that the company Alvin and Heidi founded, Toffler Associates, is still flourishing.
