CAMPAIGN UPDATES
Trader Joe’s Makes the Switch from HFCs
Green America and members have been asking Trader Joe’s to end its use of HFCs, a highly potent greenhouse gas, for the refrigeration systems in its stores. This month, Trader Joe’s announced its new stores are using a climate-friendly refrigerant instead of HFCs. This is great news, and we will continue to urge the company to make the switch in all its stores.
Amazon Responds to Pressure on Chemicals
Amazon Private Brands has finally responded to our mounting pressure to end toxic textiles by beginning to comply with the AFIRM’s Restricted Substance List for apparel, apparel accessories, and footwear products in North America, Europe, and Japan. This is a small step towards the right direction. Much more must be done to protect consumers, workers, and our environment.
