The integration of environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) into investment analysis, decision-making and stewardship is an area of increasing attention among institutional and retail investors. This is evidenced in the number of UN PRI global signatories growing to 870 now with over USD 25 trillion in assets under management. Whether it is portfolio construction, asset allocation, engagement, or stock analysis, ESG factors are now relevant at multiple levels of the investment cycle.

Index and data providers play an important and central role in developing tools for a more complete understanding of risk and opportunity associated with investments. As a pioneer of globally accepted criteria to define ESG standards, FTSE has been at the forefront of developing index and data investment tools for this purpose, this year marking the 10th anniversary of the FTSE4Good Index Series. With the recent introduction of FTSE4Good Ratings, analysts and managers have new tools to research and identify correlation of ESG and financial performance.

At this seminar David Harris, Director of Responsible Investment at FTSE Group, will share his knowledge and experience on ESG investment practices globally and introduce index and data tools which facilitate this process. A spotlight will be cast on insights we can gain from tools like FTSE4Good Ratings to show practical applications of the data available.
