Money: Servant or Master?

Money: Servant or Master?

Tuesday, 28th October 2014 – 18.30

Three speakers bring their theological, academic and practitioner perspectives to explore the ways in which we relate to money. They will discuss the extent to which this relationship needs to be changed, both by potential alterations to the financial system as well as changes in the behaviours of individuals, corporations and government institutions. How has  the role and importance of money changed in recent years, and have we become slaves to it?  If the nature of money today is problematic, then how can we restore it to a position of utility and productive service?

Speakers:
The Rt Revd Dr Peter Selby – Former Bishop of Worcester, Author of An Idol Unmasked: A Faith Perspective on Money
Ben Dyson – Founder of Positive Money
Dominic Johnson – Founding Partner and CEO, Somerset Capital Management LLP

The event will be chaired by Barbara Ridpath, Director of St Paul’s Institute
