Today, we are publishing a breakthrough report, VERGE and the Built Environment, focusing on how technology convergence is rapidly affecting buildings, campuses, neighborhoods, and cities. Written by LEED pioneer and GreenBiz.com senior editor Rob Watson, the report focuses on how the built environment is being transformed by the combination of energy, transportation, and information and communications technologies.
The free report, which can be downloaded here, will also be the subject of a one-hour webcast today at 1 pm ET / 10 am PT, featuring Watson, Jennifer Layke of Johnson Control’s Institute for Building Efficiency, and Melissa O’Mara of Schneider Electric. The free webcast (registration required) which I’ll moderate, will discuss the report and its implications for those involved with facilities, real estate, energy, transportation, IT, and sustainability.
It should be interesting. The topics embedded in VERGE and the Built Environment encompass some of the biggest technology and sustainability trends around: big data, smart cities, sustainable mobility, the “share economy,” the smart grid, and more.
