Conference to drive discussion on non-financial reporting on an international basis

(Justmeans.com) March 3, 2011 – New York, NY – Justmeans is proud to announce the participation of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) at the Integrated Reporting and Measuring Sustainability Conference on March 25 in London, that will bring together leaders in sustainability reporting for one day of executive level discussion on integrated reporting, trends in disclosure requirements, and sustainable investment as a tool for risk mitigation.
Dr. Nelmara Arbex, Deputy Chief Executive of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) will speak as part of the panel on ‘The State of Non-Financial Reporting’. Dr. Arbex joined the GRI Secretariat in July 2006 as Director for Learning and Services, and is now responsible for developing the program and content of the Learning Services Department, which supports reporters and report users in their use of the GRI Guidelines.
Prior to joining the GRI, Dr. Arbex was manager for Corporate Responsibility at Natura Cosmetics, Brazil for three years. In that role she developed and implemented a management system for corporate responsibility, led participatory processes of sustainable development planning with communities, implemented national social and environmental campaigns, and was responsible for the company’s internal sustainability program for managers. She also coordinated the preparation of the company’s annual sustainability report.
Dr. Arbex is author of the Portuguese sustainability website and blog Sustentabilidade com Pimenta.
Attendees of the Integrated Reporting and Measuring Sustainability Conference will hear Dr. Arbex in conversation with Paul Dickinson, Executive Chairman, Carbon Disclosure Project, and Jessica Fries, Director, Accounting for Sustainability Project. The format of the conference allows attendees an extended period to question the panelists following their moderated discussion.
